Centrifugally Casting by Timcast Hollow Bar

Rating & reviews (0 reviews)
Centrifugal Casting involves rotating a permanent mold is about its axis at high speeds (300 to 3000 rpm with a force of 200 G while pouring the molten. The centrifugal force throws the molten metal towards inner side of mold wall where, after cooling it solidifies. This casting has very finely grained outer diameter making it corrosion resistant. The lightweight oxides and impurities float toward the inner surface and can be easily machined away.

Timcast Hollowbar | VEEM Engineering, Perth

Timcast Hollowbar a product of VEEM Ltd. has used this technique to centrifugally cast Timcast Hollowbar, an extremely versatile material for engineers in various fields of manufacture, construction, and maintenance. The process of centrifugal casting helps them to make practically and economically viable supplies having unlimited range of material specifications with wide ranging outside diameters and wall thicknesses. Centrifugal casting is the first choice for making components, having ability to bear pressure, used in machine and plant construction.

The types of centrifugal casting machines come in both vertical and horizontal variation. Horizontal Centrifugal Casting Machines are for the production of long and thin cylinders, whereas Vertical Centrifugal Casting Machines can produce ring components.

Advantages of Centrifugal Casting:
Manufacture to precise requirements in terms of length, diameter, and thickness.
Varied wall thicknesses are available by using same mould.
Centrifugal casting does away with the requirement for cores.
Centrifugal cast hollow bar have exceptional mechanical qualities.
Centrifugal casting makes it possible to use an extensive range of materials.
Typically, iron, steel, stainless steels, and alloys of aluminum, copper, and nickel can be used in centrifugal casting
Two materials can be successfully casted centrifugally during the process.
Centrifugal castings are corrosion resistant, so perfect for pipe work.

Typically, this method is used for making a variety of pipes, pipe liners, bushings, bearing, ball valves, wear rings & seals, shaft sleeves, tubes, gas burner tubes, and furnace rolls as well as products like brake drums, engine cylinders, gears, valve seats, flanges. Advantageously used in manufacturing boilers, pressure vessels, valves, pumps, flywheels, cylinder liners, steel mill rollers, and in Shipbuilding for rudder and propeller parts and sealing technology along with other axi-symmetric parts.

The engineers at Timcast Hollowbar have utilized the best features of centrifugal casting to make highly sound and wear resistant products like 'Forever Pipe' and 'Centri Bar'. Centrifugal casting successfully make material of high integrity, durability, strength, and technologically best choice for high performance functional requirements for the jet engine compressor cases, furnace tubes in petrochemical industries, military products, and similar high-steadfast operations.
