What is PBX phone system?

We all know that nowadays, there are numerous technologies related to phones. With the use of these, the size, features, connectivity etc services are increasing and are constantly evolving. One of them is phone branch exchange, the Abbreviation for PBX. This service enables a company to have its own private network of telephone system. Using PBX phone system , one can connect the internal telephones of a company and also connects them to the PSTN (Public Switched telephone system).

The users of PBX phones can share may external lines that will enable them to make external calls. There are mainly 4 types of PABX systems, but the one of the latest is IP PBX, also known as VOIP PBX.

How is VOIP PBX different from PBX?

VOIP PBX is the latest technology implemented, which help the users fair better in the many tasks and deliver best service than the ordinary PBX.

A VOIP phone, use a technology known as voiceover IP than enable the user to make telephone calls over IP network. There is no need of separate PSTN system and one can take the help of any IP, like internet to make phone calls. There are many service providers that are providing VOIP technology like Skype, Nimbuzz etc.

Using Business voip is nowadays very popular and many companies are taking the help of this service to make calls. To reduce the spending and use that money in some other work is what the companies are doing nowadays.  It actually help the business only as there will be no connectivity problem plus using this service automatically will keep them updated about the internet service provider of that company.

Advantages and disadvantages of Voip phones

There are many features of VOIP phones like Pre-installed Caller Id, which will help the receiver see the number of the incoming call. Call transfer and call hold feature enable the user to transfer a call from one phone to another and one can hold the call too. Dialing by name is also the additional feature provided in this.

There are many disadvantages too associated with Voip phones like its first requirement is the constant internet access, without which you can’t make a telephone call. The routers and the phones are dependent on electricity, if suddenly in between a call, the electricity supply is off then automatically the voip will shut down. Nowadays, due to the widespread of this technology the voice quality of the call with voip is becoming poorer. Because, almost house nowadays take the help of this to make a voip call, so this will interfere with the IP network of other user and thus this interference will create noise that will disturb the quality of the call.

So, VOIP phones are very auseful and are mostly used for making telephone calls nowadays.
