Historical Overview of Platinum Automotive®
PLATINUM AUTOMOTIVE® has been providing automotive services for over 60 years now. With the business still in the family for three generations already, you can count on the team to provide exceptional results, as well as the honest and reliable services that have become the hallmarks of this long standing and successful business.
Originally, it started in 1948, following World War II, and Francis (Bing) Lawless founded the business. In 1953, he registered it with the NSW Registrar General as Bing’s Garage Pty Ltd, located in Botany.
From the age of 14, Bing’s son Kevin Lawless worked as a motor mechanic in the business and in 1982 he purchased it from his father, Bing. Kevin continued to operate and work for the business until 1999, and by this time, at the age of 55, had been part of the business for just over 40 years.
At this time, Bradley Lawless, grandson of Bing purchased the business from his father, Kevin, although Brad had already been working there for 14 years prior to that, having started in 1985. As part of this ‘handing the baton on’ to the third generation, and due to expansion of the business, the name was changed to Platinum Automotive Care®, and most recently, to Platinum Car Service®.
