Party Crashers in Costa Rica Bachelor Party in Jaco Beach

I’ve known Joe since birth, so to speak – I mean, we grew up together, and lived next door to one another for years. We got in trouble, together, which inevitably turned into a misguided sort of friendship. Him and I would have drunken escapades which continued all the way until past college graduation when Joe first met Britney – that changed everything. He was completely under her spell, Joe wrote off all his party-buddies, including me, and we did not speak for several years. I was shocked when I found out about their engagement. This is the story of how a few friends and I went to Costa Rica to crash his Bachelor Partyin Jaco Beach!

Our airplane touched down on Costa Rican soil at 11AM on a sunny Tuesday morning. An Air-Conditioned Mercedes Benz Sprinter van picked us up at the airport and after an hour and a half drive, we arrived at our awesome party-friendly hotel at Cocal Hotel & Casino in Jaco Beach. The party here was unforgiving and awesome, the bass booming in our ears, the babes dancing around and chilling in the pool with drinks in their hands – this was surely paradise! We threw our luggage into our rooms, and literally ran downstairs to the poolside bar. We got drinks, jumped in the pool and started chatting with the ladies. Before long, we made friends and told them about our plans, and went altogether to surprise Joe.

Joe, shocked, opened the door to the beach house he and his new friends had rented out for the weekend, and his expression alone was worth the trip. Confronting all his ex-buddies he had conveniently forgotten to invite to his Bachelor Party must have been weird, he asked us what we were doing there. “SURPRISE”, we yelled, and carried him by force to the pool and then dumped Joe into the pool with all his clothes on. First, he was mad but then he cracked a smile and burst out laughing. We got some drinks and made peace, and then we told him about how we had decided to crash his party and wanted to have one last HOORAH altogether. “We’re partying tonight!” he yelled, and I thrived at the thought of the vibrant nightlife in Jaco Beach – this would be awesome! We all cheered, raised our beers and toasted to Joe’s officially-crashed Bachelor Party weekend!

Partied out, having done keg-stands in the hot tropical sun and gotten nicely buzzed, we made our way out of the great, big beach house and went to a nearby beach bar for drinks. The bar was loud with booming music, evidently some sort of party going on, drinks going all around – of course, we joined in. After a few shots, Joe started letting loose. We met up with the girls from the hotel, and while some of us danced around, others played pool in the back. In order to be able to keep the party going until much later, I ordered some food – loaded nachos, which were awesome!

Back at the hotel, Joe was dancing on the bar and the guys were all pointing and laughing. After partying there for a little longer, we changed into dry clothes and went out bar-hopping. Our first stop was a badass local bar where the music was sick and the people were our kind of people – party people! We drank, danced and celebrated for an hour or so, before we went along to our next destination, since we had made reservations for 10PM. We were received at the club with total friendliness as we were immediately led to our VIP seating, and things progressed really quickly after that. We popped bottles, champagne showers, the girls were all up dancing on the seats and the tables, we all had our hands in the air, having drinks, chanting out “JOE” at the top of our lungs. We partied at this nightclub until the break of dawn, and were the last ones to leave.

Joe put his arm around me as we stood outside on the deck, looking out onto the beach, and with a big, drunken but satisfied smile on his face, he said, “You are crazy, man. I can’t believe you’re here, and I can’t believe everything that happened tonight. Britney is going to kill me when she finds out,” then he added, “I’m sorry for freezing you all out. I’m glad you crashed my Bachelor Party – it had been awfully dull until you guys came along!” I took another sip of my beer, smiled back at him, and said, “All good, dude. One last blow-out!”
