We recently Attended the APPA Convex 2013, which is a strictly trade only event for promotional product and corporate apparel suppliers, It was hosted at the Royal Hall of Industries, Fox Studios Complex at Moore Park in Sydney. This event was so popular it had record attendances and was sold out in record time. Proving that this year’s tradeshow was an event not to be missed.

At 10am the doors opened and a steady flow of promotional product and apparel distributors rolled in, yours truly included. Being in the promotional products industry for over 10 years we saw a lot a familiar faces and some new ones also. Some of the promotional companies that had great stands were Promo Gallery, JS Supplies, The Range, Image Collection, High Caliber, Creative Locker, Logo Line, DEX Collection. Not to be outdone the Apparel distributors such as Biz Collection, Winning Spirit, Bocini, Legend, Ramo, Van Heusen, Harvest and Stencil also had impressive looking displays, showing off all their new lines of corporate apparel. There were also a few work wear distributors such as Visitec and Prime Mover showcasing their wares.

Big Trends we noticed this year were more companies offering full colour printing on promotional items such as metal water bottles, umbrellas, technology products, printed golf balls, promotional chocolate and sweets were very popular promotional items also, soft shell jackets and dye sublimated apparel were everywhere, a few suppliers were offering direct to garment DTG printing, but didn’t seem to have a big impact this year. Another thing we noticed was that minimum quantities were getting lower for indent promotional products sydney and apparel, and they were able to produce them in record time. One supplier would custom make polo shirts in a choice of 5 fabrics, in any sizes for a minimum of 50 units, and dye sublimated polo shirts had minimums of only 20 units.
