Rating & reviews (0 reviews)
The Roku boxes are designed by the Roku Company mainly to watch movies offered by the Netflix streaming service. Once the box is connected to the television, it only needs to be activated to start watching movies instantly. If you need to activate your Roku box, you can do it with a few simple steps.

For the Roku activation, connect the Roku box to your television following the procedure indicated in the Roku manual.

Turn on your TV and select the input channel for the Roku box. Once you see the Roku welcome screen, press the "Select" button on the Roku remote control.

Select the type of connection you have (wired or wireless) on the network screen and provide the necessary information about your network. Once the connection is established, you should see the activation screen with an activation code.

For any channel activation such as let us take an example of Netflix. Visit the Netflix activation site on your computer and log in to your account if requested. Enter the activation code on your television in the text box of the activation page. With this, your Roku box will be activated. For different Roku channels use their corresponding official sites.

How to send videos to your Roku device

Firefox for Android now allows you more than just watching videos. The new video streaming feature allows you to send videos to streaming players, like Roku, so you can watch them on your TV.

When you start playing a video on your TV, you can browse other sites, or pause your Android device without interrupting your video. We will show you how. Prepare Firefox on your Roku device for the first time: Before you begin, add the Firefox channel to your channel list. You will have to do this step once only. When you add it, you'll be ready for the following instructions and you'll be able to play the videos!

Make sure your Roku is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Android device. Open Firefox on your Android device, when you go to a website with a video format that Roku supports. If Adobe Flash Player is enabled on your device, disable it or uninstall it via Android settings to prevent it from overwriting supported formats.

Touch the send to icon video that appears in the address bar or on the video player to transfer Videos to Roku. Choose Roku from the Cast menu on the device. The video will start playing after a short loading time.

Troubleshooting Roku Streaming
Given below are some of the most advanced and easy to execute troubleshooting steps for dealing with Roku Streaming errors.

Check the intensity of your Wi-Fi network

Go to Settings> Network> Wireless (Wi-Fi). Observe the setting that is named as Signal Strength should be: Good or Excellent. If it says Acceptable or Low- that means that it does not reach the Roku with enough force. In that scenario, do this:

 Reconnect to the wireless network

Go to Settings > Network and then on the Wireless (Wi-Fi). If "Update connection" is available, select it to update the connection. Otherwise, simply select your wireless network from the list and enter the password when the prompt appears. If you were connected before, you may not have to enter the password again.

Note: Passwords are case sensitive.

Did it work? If it did not work, continue with the next step.

Restart your wireless network and your streaming player Roku

Unplug the power cord from the back of your modem or wireless router. Thereafter unplug the power cord from the back of the Roku player. Reconnect the power cable to the modem. Wait a couple of minutes for it to restart completely.  And, also reconnect the power cable to the Roku player and wait for the image to appear on the TV. But you don’t need to go undergo a Roku setup process again.

If the failure continues, you can try connecting your Roku to another internet. (You can even connect it to a Smartphone in "internet sharing" mode, but only to do the test since watching a movie connected to your Smartphone would consume too much data).

That’s it, now you are well aware of all the important things that you must know about your Roku Streaming player. Hope you find this quick guide helpful.
