Before talking about the ways through which diamonds are grown in the lab it is important to know the ways through which diamonds are formed naturally. The process of growing diamonds in a lab is similar to that of naturally formed diamonds with the only difference that the condition in which diamonds are formed naturally is replicated in the labs. Difference between lab grown diamonds and simulated diamonds

If you are thinking that lab grown diamonds are fake then you should know the difference between lab grown diamonds and simulated diamonds. Materials such as cubic zirconia, zircon, spinel and various other synthetic garnets are used to create diamond-like products.  These products are known as simulated diamonds.  The physical property and the chemical property of these materials are different from that of diamond.  Simulated diamonds are not lab grown diamonds and have huge differences with the diamonds that are grown in the lab. Lab grown diamonds are really formed with carbon molecules.  The only difference between the lab grown diamond and the real diamond is the process of its production.  However these diamonds are not fake.  These diamonds are as real as diamonds that are mined from the coal mines. Diamonds are considered to be the hardest natural material available on earth.  Over compression of diamond leading to the crystallization of the same makes diamond strongest.  The same is the case with lab grown diamonds.  As lab grown diamonds are produced by replicating the process of naturally forming diamonds so these diamonds are equally strong which results in longer durability.  This is the reason why lab grown diamonds are considered to be durable and long lasting.
