  • First of all, you have to plug your Netgear extender into an electrical power outlet to light your power LED, if the LED does turn from red/amber to solid green, press the power ON/OFF button.

  • Try to connect your Netgear WiFi extender to the router with the help of an internet cable. After that, try to connect your computer or laptop to your home WiFi router.

  • Run any web browser and visit ‘Netgear extender setup’ web page. After that enter the default Netgear WiFi extender login credentials, and then hit on the login button.

  • You will be prompted for a Netgear extender setup, asking to accept terms and conditions.

  • Now tap I AGREE and then enter.

  • Now choose your admin identification. Identification basically used to access your extender’s settings on a web browser.

  • Now choose a name and a password that is different from your WiFi’s network password, crack selected security questions (security helps to recover your admin’s identification if lost).

  • Click on NEXT

  • Your extender will ask you to use the netgear genie help, click on YES so that your extender can search the local WiFi.

  • Now select your radio button for your network 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi network name (SSID) if you do not see your name,Click on see more

  • Now,Click or tap  NEXT

  • Enter your password and tap NEXT again.

  • Now select NAME and PASS CODE for your extender. The extender uses the name of your existing network which is different for each band. That is:


 

  • _2GEXT for 2.4GHz

  • _5GEXT for 5GHz


(Password for each band is the same by default).

  • If your extender supports to engage extenders, you can use the same WiFi name and password as your existing network by Enabling one WiFi name checkbox.

  • Now you have the same admin name and password for both your WiFi and extender.

  • Click on NEXT. Your settings can take a few minutes to apply, extender displays the WiFi name and password for each band and takes a note of that.

  • To connect your smart device go to the WiFi settings and connect to the netgear extender new network.

  • Now go back to your web browser, select the checkbox on the bottom of the page and tap on continue.


All set, your Netgear extender is now ready to extend your network in every corner.
